|The following year, during Word Ducati Week, news was announced that production of a road-legal version of the Desmosedici would start, with the world's first MotoGP replica to be called the Desmosedici RR.
"Just five years after their MotoGP debut, Ducati produced a road-going replica of their race bike. The 2008 Desmosedici RR was based on the 2006 Desmosedici GP6 racer and, at the time, was as close as you could get to the real thing. It was decadence overload, featuring a retuned V4 engine, carbon bodywork, and top-drawer components."
In his video below, motorcycle journalist Michael Neeves chats with Desmosedici RR owner Rob Nesbit before taking the bike out onto the road.
